“The Gift of Myrrh”

This is my artwork that was commissioned by the Jonahre Foundation (www.Jonahre.org) for the 2017 Christmas Art Walk in Wheaton, IL.  This is at “Station 12”, hosted at Carlson’s Hardware.

Today was the first day of the Christmas Art Walk (www.ChristmasArtWalk.com) – and I had the privilege of meeting and greeting art visitors at Carlson’s Hardware, the host site for my piece.  I enjoyed the opportunity to explain about “The Gift of Myrrh,” my art title in the 12 stations of the Art Walk.

Last night was the “appreciation dinner” for the artists, store owners and churches participating and supporting this year’s Christmas Art Walk. And this was the first official “unveiling” of the 12 art pieces from 12 commissioned artists being hosted at 12 different stores in downtown Wheaton. The art walk starts today and continues to Christmas Eve. This is my digital painting for “Station 12 – The Gift of Myrrh”   For more details about the Art Walk, please visit http://www.ChristmasArtWalk.com

Christmas Art Walk

I am very fortunate to be one of 12 artists selected for this year’s Christmas Art Walk in downtown Wheaton, Dec. 12-24.  I will be at station 12, Carlson’s Hardware, 125 Front St.  More information, including the map and artists’ video interviews, are available at http://www.ChristmasArtWalk.com

The east coast of Florida has some unique “travel destinations” and this lighthouse was one of my favorites.  I thought it would be interesting to show the “before and after” result.light house before and after

“Boats of Venice”

Venice is one of my favorite cities in the world to photograph and paint.  This artwork, included in our “European Expectations” collection, is available from our Imagekind galleries.  If you’d like to see more, please visit http://marywhitmer.imagekind.comBoats of Venice EE-046
